Glutamine-Penicillin-Streptomycin solution prevents growth of bacteria (gram positive and gram negative) in mammalian cell culture.

Penicillin acts by inhibiting bacterial cell wall synthesis.

Streptomycin inhibits prokaryote protein synthesis by preventing the transition from initiation complex to chain-elongating ribosome and causes miscoding.
