Minimum Essential Medium (MEM) is one of the most commonly used cell culture media. This medium have demonstrated the ability to support a variety of normal and transformed cells in culture and contain Earle’s Balanced Salts, which make them suitable for use in atmospheres charged with CO2 gas.

Its formulation with Earle’s salts is without sodium bicarbonate and non essential amino-acids. It contains L-Glutamine

Glucose concentration : 1g/L
To supplement with sodium bicarbonate,
Addition of sodium bicarbonate 7.5% solution (ref: L0680) : 29.3 ml/l
Addition of sodium bicarbonate powder (ref: P2060) : 2.2 g/l
