G-418 Sulfate – P0017
G-418, or geneticin, is an antibiotic for the selection of prokaryotic and eukaryotic cells of interest. Resistance to this antibiotic is provided by the expression of two resistance genes naturally present in certain bacterial strains and by transfection in eukaryotic cells.

Selection of cell lines
The G 418 Sulfate is soluble in water at 50 mg/ml which yields a clear to very lightly hazy colorless solution.
Recommended working concentrations
Optimal concentration for selection and maintenance must be determined for each cell line
Bacteria and algae: 5µg/ml .
Mammalian eukaryotic cells: 400 µg/ml for selection and 200 µg/ml for maintenance
