MEM Alpha Modification w/ Earle’s Salts w/ L-Glutamine w/o Sodium Bicarbonate – P0440

Alpha-MEM (aMEM) is a modification of Minimum Essential Medium (MEM) that contains non-essential amino acids, sodium pyruvate, thioctic acid, vitamin B12, biotin, and ascorbic acid.

Alpha-MEM can be used with a variety of suspension and adherent mammalian cells, including keratinocytes, primary rat astrocytes, and human melanoma cells. This medium is often used for the mesenchymal stem cells culture.

This reference is modified with Earle’s salts. Its formulation is without sodium bicarbonate. It contains L-Glutamine.

Glucose concentration : 1g/L
To supplement with sodium bicarbonate,
Addition of sodium bicarbonate 7.5% solution (ref: L0680) : 29.3 ml/l
Addition of sodium bicarbonate powder (ref: P2060) : 2.2 g/l
