MEM w/ Hanks’ Salts w/ L-Glutamine w/ NEAA w/o Sodium Bicarbonate – P0515
Minimum Essential Medium (MEM) is one of the most commonly used cell culture media. This medium have demonstrated the ability to support a variety of normal and transformed cells in culture. Earles’ salts have been replaced by Hanks’salts. Since the bicarbonate concentration is substantially lower, this medium has a substantially reduced buffering capacity.
Its formulation is sodium bicarbonate-free and contains L-Glutamine and non essential amino-acids.

Cell culture
Formulation is without sodium bicarbonate, and, with L-Glutamine, non essential amino-acids and Phenol Red
Glucose concentration : 1g/L
To supplement with sodium bicarbonate,
Addition of sodium bicarbonate 7.5% solution (ref: L0680) : 4.7 ml/l
Addition of sodium bicarbonate powder (ref: P2060) : 0.35 g/l
