Medium 199 modified w/ Hanks’ Salts w/o L-Glutamine w/o Sodium Bicarbonate – P0410

Medium 199 was designed for the culture of non-transformed cells. It is widely used in virology, for vaccine production and for in vitro culture of primary explants of mouse pancreatic epithelial tissue.

Medium 199 is formulated with Hanks salts. Its formulation contains no L-Glutamine and sodium bicarbonate.

BioWest recommends the addition of 10% fetal bovine serum to the medium.

Addition of sodium bicarbonate 7.5% solution (ref: L0680) : 4.7 ml/l
Addition of sodium bicarbonate powder (ref: P2060) : 0.35 g/l
To supplement with L-Glutamine,
Addition of L-Glutamine 100X, 200mM solution (ref: X0550) : 3.4 ml/l
Addition of L-Glutamine powder (ref: P1031) : 0.1 g/l
