MEM w/ Earle’s Salts w/o L-Glutamine w/ 25 mM Hepes – L0445

Minimum Essential Medium (MEM) is one of the most commonly used cell culture media. This medium have demonstrated the ability to support a large variety of normal and transformed cells in culture. It contains Earle’s Balanced Salts, which make them suitable for use in atmospheres charged with CO2.

Its formulation is L-Glutamine-free and contains HEPES (25mM).

Cell culture

Formulation without L-Glutamine, with HEPES (25mM) and phenol red
Glucose concentration : 1 g/L

To supplement with L-Glutamine,
Addition of L-Glutamine 100X, 200mM solution (ref: X0550) : 10 ml/l
Addition of L-Glutamine powder (ref: P1031) : 0.292 g/l

Supplements should be added to the medium as sterile supplements.
